Olivia Fanning

Physiotherapist

Qualifications & Experience:

Olivia has recently joined the team at Hunter Physio and is excited to be a part of your health journey. Olivia graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) in 2022. She has worked in the public health system for the last 2 years which created a strong foundation in her knowledge of orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. Olivia is passionate about helping people recover, adapt and return to doing the activities that matter most to them. Olivia believes in the importance of exercise for “every body” and has completed her APPI Clinical Pilates early in her career, allowing her to identify the specific areas of your movement that could be optimised.

Specific Physiotherapy Interests:

Olivia is interested in the nuances of women’s health physiotherapy and is applying herself to learn more about the female athlete specifically. She is focused on providing targeted manual therapy techniques and prescribing individualised exercises to help you achieve your goals.

Sporting & Fitness Background:

Olivia is a keen sportsperson, having played representative Netball and AFL – which grew her experience in sporting injuries and the intricacies of return to sport. Additionally, she has a background in Hockey, Oztag, Dancing, Surf Life Saving and Swimming – which remain key areas of interest for her.

Olivia is currently working as a Physiotherapist for the Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Newcastle Knights Pathways teams.

A little bit more about Olivia:

Being a proud Novocastrian, Olivia frequents the beach and loves the ocean-side lifestyle that Newcastle provides. She is a regular at the ocean baths doing laps, soaking up the sun near the beach reading a good book or at the pilates studio! Outside of work, she is a keen traveller and always has the next international holiday or road trip being planned in the background.
